Privacy Policy

Signage Works Limited (NZBN 9429053063564), trading as Signage Works, is a commercial signage company based at 34D Constellation Drive, Rosedale, Auckland 0632. This policy covers how we handle personal information when you visit our website at signageworks.co.nz or contact us for a quote.

When you fill in our quote form or contact us, we collect:
- Name (required)
- Email address (required)
- Phone number (required)
- Project type (e.g. exterior signage, vehicle wrap, interior branding)
- Message (whatever you tell us about the job)
- File uploads (plans, photos, brand assets — optional)
- Vehicle make and model (only when your enquiry involves vehicle signage)
When you browse the site, we automatically collect:
- Pages you visit and how you got here, such as referrer, campaign link or aggregate search-query information where available
- Device and browser type, screen size and language
- IP address and general location derived from it, such as city-level location — not your exact physical location
- Interactions, such as form starts, phone-number clicks and email clicks
Apart from the automatic website and analytics information listed above, we only collect what you choose to send us.
- Directly from you — via the quote form, phone calls, emails, or in-person conversations
- Automatically — via standard web analytics (Google Analytics 4) and our hosting platform (Vercel server logs)
- From third parties — only when you've authorised it (e.g. Google Business Profile passes us the lead source when you click through from a Google Maps listing)
If we collect personal information about you from someone else, such as a business contact, Google Business Profile lead source, shopfitter, architect or project manager, we will take reasonable steps to make sure you know we have collected it and why, unless an exception applies.
We don't buy contact lists. We don't scrape data.
We use your information to:
- Respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote
- Schedule site visits and installations
- Send you the quote, deposit invoice and final invoice
- Follow up if we haven't heard back
- Send occasional marketing emails about our work, new services and promotions where you have asked to receive them, or where we have an existing business relationship and it is reasonable to infer consent under New Zealand's Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007. Every marketing email will identify Signage Works, include our contact details, and include a free unsubscribe option. You can unsubscribe at any time
- Understand which of our pages and ads work, so we know where to put our effort
- Detect and prevent spam, fraud and abuse of our website
- Comply with New Zealand law (e.g. tax records, GST returns)
We don't profile you for advertising. We don't sell information about you. We do not sell your data or use it for unrelated purposes.
Your information is stored on third-party platforms (above) that maintain industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.
How long we keep it depends on the type of record:
- Completed jobs (invoiced and paid): retained for at least 7 years to meet New Zealand tax and business-record requirements
- Active enquiries and quotes in progress: retained for as long as we're in conversation, plus 24 months afterwards in case you come back later or for warranty/follow-up purposes
- Cold enquiries (no contact for 24+ months): deleted at our next routine cleanup, unless you've explicitly asked to stay on file
You can ask us to delete your information sooner — see §07 below. We're required to check the information we hold is accurate before we use it for a decision affecting you (NZ Privacy Principle 8), so if any of your details change please let us know.
If a privacy breach happens and it is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as required by the Privacy Act.
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong or out of date
- Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Complain to us if you think we've mishandled your information
- Escalate to the Privacy Commissioner if you're not satisfied with our response

This is a commercial-signage website aimed at business owners. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page shows when the current version was published. Material changes will be flagged at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
