Project Overview
We completed a full exterior rebrand for Pitstop Browns Bay, replacing aging frontage signage, repainting the façade, and installing new ACM panels cut in line with national branding standards.
The updated frontage covers approximately 8m across the main face + 2.4m return on the left elevation, with a continuous 1100mm fascia height, creating a bold high-visibility band facing Beach Road.
This site previously featured damaged ACM and a deteriorated box frame section, requiring structural removal before rebuild. Once stripped back, we undertook full repainting in Pitstop brand red using Resene Sonyx, producing a clean base surface before signage reinstatement.
Brief & Challenge
Access equipment could not be used safely — the building sits between a transformer feed, a roller door vehicle access path, and an overhead utility line feeding directly into the fascia.
As a result, the project required an entirely ladder-approved installation, increasing both precision and safety handling requirements.
Paint preparation also demanded attention — the blockwork showed substrate fatigue, meaning pressure washing and scraping were essential to ensure adhesion before repaint and panel fixing.
What we did
We delivered a full workshop transformation over three days — two days for removal, pressure wash + repainting, followed by a one-day ACM and vinyl install with a two-technician crew.
The red PSP ACM provides long-life brand colour stability, while the white ACM and cut 551 logo elements maintain strict brand-standard geometry and edge clarity.
The refreshed frontage presents crisp, high-contrast visibility, with the fascia band delivering long-range recognition and bringing the site into alignment with Pitstop’s national identity rollout.
• Removed original ACM panels & failed box frame
• Pressure-washed blockwork + scrape preparation to remove loose material
• Two-coat Resene Sonyx Pitstop Red repaint
• Installed new 4mm ACM fascia band — 8m frontage + 2.4m side return
• Red PSP ACM panels installed across right 3.5 panel width
• White ACM across remaining front + corner interface
• National-standard branding applied using Oracal 551 cut vinyl
• Layered red/black Pitstop logo installed to spec
• Ladder-based install due to transformer, utility lines + roller door clearance
Materials
• 4mm ACM sheets
• PSP red ACM
• Oracal 551 cut vinyl (black + red)
• Resene Sonyx exterior coating
• Structural fixings + prep solvent
Processes
• Removal + façade clearance
• Pressure wash + scraping prep
• Two-coat brand repaint
• Ladder-only ACM install
• Multi-panel fascia alignment
• Vinyl application to brand spec
Outcome
The finished site now reads clean, modern, and strongly branded — a notable upgrade from the previous façade condition and a significant improvement for customer perception.
Signage contrasts sharply from the road, and the refreshed red band works as an anchor point for national consistency across the Pitstop network.
While this upgrade stands as one of the newer branch conversions, the visual clarity and improved shopfront presence position this site strongly for the evolving network rollout.
A robust, durable and brand-correct exterior overhaul.
