JP Auto Center Fascia Lettering Upgrade

Large-format router-cut signage installed on a restored fascia, featuring gloss yellow and white ACM letters for high-impact roadside visibility.

South Auckland

Papatoetoe

Project Overview

JP Auto relocated from a smaller workshop into a much larger facility and needed signage that reflected their growth and capability. The existing fascia was weathered, uneven, and faded, providing low contrast and poor visibility from the road.

We produced and installed large ACM letters for a bold, modern brand presence — including a 1.8m-tall JP monogram — using gloss yellow and white finishes for maximum contrast and viewing distance.

Brief & Challenge

The original fascia was heavily weathered — patchy grey/black with warped boards and an inconsistent mounting surface. With the shop move, the client wanted strong branding and long-range visibility, but the uneven cladding meant direct mounting would cause misalignment and letter distortion.

What we did

We rebuilt the install surface by repainting the fascia and producing custom timber backer blocks to level and offset each letter. The 1.8m-tall JP monogram establishes immediate recognition, while AUTO | CENTRE sits stacked to the right for clean readability across the full 6-metre span.

High visibility, big scale, and strong colour contrast transformed the frontage into an unmistakable roadside identity.

• CNC router-cut final letters and branding elements in 4mm ACM

• Wrapped primary letterform (J + yellow side of P) in Avery 700 gloss yellow

• Kept secondary P and small text white for balance and contrast

• Repaired and repainted full fascia in satin black prior to install

• Fabricated timber angle backers to compensate for bowed/weatherboard surface

• Installed using adhesive + countersunk screws with cap patches

• Accessed fascia via cherry picker initially, then scissor lift due to overhead utility line

Materials

• 4mm ACM router-cut letterforms

• Avery 700 Gloss Yellow wrap film

• White ACM lettering finish

• Painted timber mounting blocks (custom cut for angled boarding)

• Black fascia paint (surface restoration)

Processes

• CNC routing & letter formation

• Vinyl wrapping + edge finishing

• Fascia repair & black repaint

• Fabrication of timber backer blocks

• Adhesive + countersunk screw install

• Mixed lift access — cherry picker + scissor lift

Outcome

JP Auto now presents as a confident, professional workshop — bold branding, full use of fascia space, and far stronger street recognition.

The new signage modernised the building entirely, signalling growth and capability to customers before they even step inside.
